Kangasnaamio asetetaan kasvoille puhdistuksen ja kasvoveden jälkeen, seerumin sijaan, annetaan vaikuttaa 10-20 minuuttia, jonka jälkeen iholle jääneen nesteen voi taputella hellävaraisesti kasvoille poispesemättä. Yleisesti kangasnaamiot soveltuvat sekä aamu- ja iltakäyttöön, ellei tuotteessa sitä erikseen mainita. Tee uusille tuotteille aina testi pienelle ihoalueelle, varmistaaksesi sen soveltuvuus ihollesi, varsinkin mikäli ihosi on herkkä. Lisää pieni määrä esimerkiksi kaulalle ja odota 24-48 tuntia havaitaksesi mahdolliset ihoreaktiot.
